My Egyptian friend Abla spelled an end to my silent nights and solitary walks. She has an uncanny knack of seeking trouble, and boy did we make a pact to take this city by storm. I have never thought of myself singing Radiohead songs with a young woman beneath a veil. But this fascinating creature here transcends the stereotypical notions that are often associated with people of her religion. I’m really happy to have met her.
